A Black Bear's Hideaway Cabin Experience | Gatlinburg

Posted by Collin Guernsey on

We started out our trip with a slight detour through Lexington to pick-up our friends. We were excited to experience Gatlinburg in a new way! We planned out our stay at A Black Bear's Hideaway and as we planned we got more excited. Many of the cabins we looked at were 30-40 minutes away from Gatlinburg itself and that was very frustrating. But the hideaway that we rested on was only 10 minutes away from downtown!

We arrived at the cabin at a little after 5 and unloaded the food and drinks into the fridge. We then begin exploring the cabin from top to bottom. On the top floor there was 1 large bedroom and bathroom with a king size bed, it was a premium bedroom without a doubt. On the main level there was another bathroom and bedroom combo, as well as a living room, dining room and kitchen. The layout was really great and allowed for easy maneuverability. Though the pictures online make the cabin itself seem a bit bigger than it actually is. Also connected to the main level is a large deck with an eating area and large hot tub.

The bottom floor of the cabin was also incredible, with a bedroom and bathroom combo as well as a pool table in the game room. The deck off of the bottom floor was filled with chairs and had a great view! On the bottom floor they have also included a washer and dryer for additional convenience. We really loved the initial walk through and then we got to our visit!

A few things we really liked about our stay:

  • The hot tub!
  • The two porches, they were legit.
  • The couch, oh and naps on the couch!
  • The LOCATION (Big winner here)
  • The beds, can you say comfortable?

A few things we thought could have been improved:

  • The size of the kitchen, a little small!
  • The lack of epic mountain views.

Overall we had a fantastic trip and would most assuredly visit A Black Bear's Hideaway again. Go check out their Facebook page here and go check out their VRBO page as well, book it in advance because otherwise you might miss is!
