Green Guru Gear Joyride Roll Top Backpack Review

The Joyride exceeded my expectations. It is well-made....very well made. The instant you pick it up you can tell it is quality! As I was maneuvering the kayak in and out of the river, I was thinking this pack will stand up to the wear and tear of any outdoor adventures. The Joyride is extremely durable. The colorful backpack is waterproof! What a great feature. Some slight waves slapped up against the side of the kayak spraying water onto the pack...the water just beaded up and rolled off. The tag says it's stormproof and I believe it. So if you get caught in the rain, no worries. Because it's waterproof it made it easy to wash the mud off! On one hot day I left the backpack in the car with a cold sweet tea and some chocolate protein bars. When I returned everything was still cool in the pack. It's an instant wearable cooler.

Another great feature of the backpack? It's upcycled from bike inner tubes, jeep top scraps, and reflective street sign scraps. AND it's made in the USA. One of my favorite features? It is insulated! I had a water bottle, sandwich, cell phone, map, hat, sweatshirt, and a few other things and it was the perfect size. The size is not too big, not too small...just right. There are lots of little extra features like a large pocket on the outside (I used it for my map), comfortable shoulder straps, several hooks, light loops and a handle at the top for easy carrying if you don't want to put it on your back. I liked the sternum strap because I didn't have to worry about all my things while I was carrying everything else! It has a neat option to roll the top down or fold down and clip. Oh, and it has a fun reflective triangle.

Going to the beach for the day? A rugged hike in the woods? An adventurous bike ride? A long road trip? A fun kayak trip? The Joyride backpack would make a perfect addition to any of these adventures and more.
